Clarksville, TN – This month has been significantly wetter than usual in Clarksville, with a substantial increase in rainfall. As of yesterday, Outlaw Field has recorded 12.87 inches of rain, surpassing the monthly average by 8.68 inches. Yesterday alone, the area received 4.26 inches of rain, marking the fourth time since 2000 that such an amount has fallen in a single day. Notably, two of these instances occurred this month, with 4.30 inches recorded on May 8.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, the heavy rainfall has contributed to localized flooding concerns. Despite the cancellation of the Tornado Watch for Middle Tennessee, a Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 a.m. Continuous showers and non-severe storms are expected overnight, particularly in areas most affected by the recent rains.
