Tinley Park, IL – Four women have tragically lost their lives in a domestic-related shooting. 

The incident occurred on Sunday morning, around 11:30 a.m., in the 7400 block of 173rd Place. The Tinley Park Police and the village’s public safety department have confirmed the identities of the victims as 53-year-old Majeda Kassem, her daughters 25-year-old Halema, 25-year-old Zahia, and 24-year-old Hanan.

The suspect, whose relationship to the victims has not been disclosed, is in police custody. A gun was recovered at the scene, adding to the gravity of the investigation. Authorities revealed that there were no prior police calls to this residence, indicating no known history of disturbance at this location.

The Kassem family, consisting of the couple, their two sons, and three daughters, were known to be a family of seven. As neighbors and locals grapple with the news, authorities have announced a scheduled update on the investigation for 11 a.m. today, hoping to shed more light on this devastating incident.
