Dublin, CA – Wenders LLC is recalling several lots of Trader Joe’s Nuts – 50% Less Sodium Roasted & Salted Whole Cashews due to potential Salmonella contamination, announced by the FDA on March 18, 2024.

The recalled lots include T12139, T12140, T12141, and T12142, identified by their SKU number 37884. Salmonella can cause serious health issues, particularly in vulnerable individuals, with symptoms ranging from fever and diarrhea to more severe conditions such as bloodstream infections.

The affected products were sold in multiple states across the U.S., including but not limited to AL, AR, AZ, CA, and WA, exclusively at Trader Joe’s stores. These cashews can be distinguished by their country of origin (India or Vietnam) and the lot numbers printed on the back panel of the packaging, with best before dates spanning from February 21 to March 10, 2025.

No illnesses have been reported so far. The contamination was discovered through routine FDA testing upon import. Consumers in possession of these products are advised not to consume them and to return them to the purchase location for a refund.
