Two victims bodies recovered after assumed drowning near Perry Farm

BOURBONNAIS – The bodies of two people that were presumed drowned after an incident Sunday morning have been recovered from the Kankakee River following recovery efforts that took place Sunday through Tuesday morning.

The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office identified the two recovered individuals as 32-year-old Liu Lianwu of Chicago and 36-year-old Tony Sun of Chicago.  Lianwu’s body was discovered by officials Monday afternoon around 1:30 pm with Sun’s body discovered near the Bourbonnais Sportsman’s Club at the river early Tuesday morning.

Both went missing early Sunday after slipping under the water near the Indian Caves at Perry Farm in Bourbonnais.  

Two other members of the family were rescued by local officials.
