SALEM, IL – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force (SEIDTF) and Illinois State Police Division of Patrol Troop 9 have apprehended 23-year-old Jeremiah A. Fink of Salem.
The charges? Four alleged counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, each a Class X Felony.
The operation spanned several months, with investigators relentlessly pursuing a narcotics investigation. The culmination occurred on August 31, 2023, around 10:30 p.m., as Fink was peacefully taken into custody near the intersection of Mills Cart Road and West Main in Salem. The severity of Fink’s charges stems from the fact that all transactions took place within 500 feet of a school while children were present.
Currently confined to the Marion County Jail, Fink’s bond has been set at $75,000, with a 10% option available. The investigation remains active and ongoing, promising further revelations in the days to come. However, the SEIDTF has made it clear that no additional information will be shared at this time.
