University Park Mourns the Loss of Beloved Fire Chief

University Park, IL – The Village of University Park revealed the passing of Fire Chief Brian Chellios. Chief Chellios, a revered figure in the community, died at 11:14 am on Friday following a sudden illness. His final moments were spent in the hospital, surrounded by his family.

According to the village’s statement, Chief Chellios had a distinguished career with the University Park Fire Department, serving the community since 2000. His 23-year tenure is marked by dedication and service to the Village of University Park. The Mayor & Board of Trustees, along with the Village Clerk, Village Manager, and Village Staff, extended their deepest condolences to Chief Chellios’s family, friends, and colleagues. 

The community is encouraged to keep them in their thoughts and prayers during this challenging period. Funeral arrangements for Chief Chellios will be announced in due course.
