Watseka Tornado Siren Alarms Residents: But It’s Just a Test!

WATSEKA, IL – Residents were taken aback this morning when a tornado siren blared at approximately 10:42 am. Watseka Police quickly clarified the situation: it was only a test. 

The unexpected sound was a result of recent repairs to one of the sirens. The test was essential to confirm the siren was operating correctly after its fix. Residents can rest easy knowing the alert was merely a precautionary measure.
