Watseka Welcomes Annual Run for the Wall Motorcycle Ride Honoring War Veterans

WATSEKA, IL – The city of Watseka witnessed a remarkable display of respect and gratitude as the Annual Run for the Wall motorcycle ride arrived to pay tribute to war veterans. This iconic event, which takes place every May, sees over 1,800 participants journey from California to Washington, DC, and from Washington, DC to Marseilles, Illinois.

At approximately 10:05 a.m., a convoy of 350 motorcycles rumbled into Watseka. Their first stop was at Casey’s, where they refueled before continuing their journey. The riders then made their way to Legion Park, where they enjoy a well-deserved lunch break lasting around 1 to 1 ½ hours. Throughout their visit, the Watseka Police Department provided crucial assistance with traffic control, ensuring the smooth passage of the riders through the town.

The Annual Run for the Wall motorcycle ride holds a special place in the hearts of participants and spectators alike. 

It serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our war veterans and honors their indomitable spirit. As the riders embarked on this challenging cross-country trip, they stopped at various war memorials along the route, paying their respects to the fallen heroes.
