WATSEKA – Watseka Superintendent Dr. David Andriano announced in a letter to parents Friday afternoon that following a decline in enrollment within the Iroquois County CUSD #9, Nettie Davis School will be forced to close next year.

“Doing so will require restructuring which grade levels are housed in each of the remaining three buildings.  While all of the details of restructuring are not complete, we are committed to making decisions best for our students yet maintaining fiscal responsibility.” Dr. Andriano wrote in a statement this afternoon.

Dr. Andriano added a grant found in the discovery process will aid current restructuring and relocating efforts for students. Adding this may allow to one day have the entire district to be relocated on high school property.
