Wayne County UTV Crash: DUI Arrest, Reckless Homicide Charge After Passenger Ejected, Killed

Keenes, IL – Illinois State Police (ISP) have arrested Johnny E. Green, 35, of McLeansboro, IL, on charges of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Reckless Homicide following a fatal UTV crash in Wayne County.

According to ISP Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8, the incident occurred on Friday. ISP Troop 9 responded to a crash involving a Polaris Razor side-by-side on County Road 70 North near County Road 425 East. The vehicle veered off the road and rolled over, ejecting the front seat passenger, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Green was identified as the driver.

On Wednesday, the Wayne County State’s Attorney charged Green. He is currently held at the Wayne County Jail. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
