Wheaton, IL – Simulated Gunfire Training Exercise Scheduled at Middle School Next Tuesday

Wheaton, IL – The Wheaton Police Department and Community Unit School District 200 will conduct a joint training exercise at Franklin Middle School next Tuesday, June 4. The exercise, running from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., will simulate a critical incident response and could include simulated gunfire.

According to officials, the community should not be alarmed by the simulated gunfire or the significant police presence during the exercise. Signs will be posted in the area to inform residents of the training in progress. The Wheaton Police Department collaborates regularly with District 200 to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
