Will County, IL – The National Weather Service Chicago Illinois has issued a warning for an elevated fire danger in surrounding areas due to a combination of record warmth, dry conditions, and breezy weather expected to start this Sunday.

Residents are urged to exercise extreme caution, particularly when disposing of smoking materials, as gusts up to 30-35 mph could significantly increase the risk of brush fires spreading. The forecast anticipates potentially record-breaking high temperatures in the mid 60s to lower 70s, which are likely to continue through Tuesday, heightening concerns for fire safety in the region.
