Will County, IL – Police: Prescribed Burn Scheduled at Hickory Creek Forest Preserve

Mokena, IL – The Mokena Police Department has announced that the Will County Forest Preserve will be conducting a prescribed burn today, Tuesday, March 19, at the Hickory Creek Forest Preserve. 

The controlled burn is set to take place between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. These events are meticulously planned and executed under strict supervision to ensure they occur only during optimal weather conditions. 

Residents in the vicinity are advised to keep windows closed and take any additional safety measures deemed necessary. Such precautions will help mitigate any potential impact from the burn.
