Willowbrook, IL – The Village of Willowbrook is celebrating its commitment to environmental stewardship and biodiversity with the adoption of the National Wildlife Federation’s Mayors’ Monarch Pledge.

According to the Village of Willowbrook’s official proclamation, Mayor Frank Trilla signed the pledge on February 22, 2024, which outlines action items for monarch butterfly conservation. The document emphasizes the critical role that cities and towns play in fostering ecosystems that support monarch populations and human health. The proclamation encourages residents to plant native milkweed and participate in community activities that bolster monarch conservation, designating March 11, 2024, as Mayors’ Monarch Pledge Day in Willowbrook.
