Wilmington, IL – Counterfeit $50 Bills Flood Local Banks, Police Warn Businesses

Local banks have alerted the Wilmington Police Department to the discovery of multiple counterfeit $50 bills in deposited funds. Authorities are urging businesses to adhere to internal procedures for identifying altered currency, as traditional markers may be ineffective due to some bills being washed and reprinted.
