Wilmington, IL – House Full of Gasoline Engulfed in Flames Late Saturday Night in Wilmington

Wilmington, IL – Late Saturday night at around 10:45 pm, a two-story single-family home at 414 Stewart Street in Wilmington became the center of a hazardous fire incident. 

According to reports the home, filled with gasoline for unknown reasons, was heavily engulfed in flames, necessitating defensive operations by the responding firefighters. This intense situation unfolded shortly after a smaller fire was addressed at the same location merely an hour earlier, escalating concerns about the property’s safety.

No injuries have yet been reported.

Emergency response teams from Braidwood, Elwood, Coal City, and Minooka were called in for support, alongside arson investigators from the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM).

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fires and the reasons behind the significant amount of gasoline found within the home.
