GRANT PARK – A home in the 400 block of West Greenwood has been reported ‘unlivable’ hours before the holiday after a late-night fire Wednesday.

According to reports, firefighters were called to the home around 10 pm last night. When firefighters arrived, they found strong winds aiding the blaze and had to work to keep it from spreading to other buildings near the scene.

Everyone inside the home was able to get out safely.

Fire departments as far away as University Park were called in to aid in tackling the blaze. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
