Former Kankakee County Democratic Central Committee Chairs announced Friday their endorsement of Charlene Eads (D) for State Representative for the 79th District.  The group also endorsed Kimberly Hudson for County Board of District 15.

The former chairs include Shirley St. Germaine, Gary Ciaccio, Don St. Germaine and John Willard.

“You will find that these two women are intelligent; talented and care about all the people in our area.  They will represent their districts well.” The former chairs said.  “The Democratic Party has a diverse, qualified group of candidates running in Kankakee County.  We urge you to learn more about their qualifications and policy positions.  Then vote in this election, it’s too important to sit out.”

Eads is a former Clinical Therapist at Shaprio Developmental Center and a AFSME Union Member for Local 29. Eads is running for the soon to be vacant chair left by State Representative Lindsey Parkhurst, who announced last November she would not run for re-election.

Eads opponent for in the 79th is Bourbonnais resident Jackie Haas (R). Haas has worked for three decades serving under served populations and served as a member of the Kankakee County Board.

The 79th District includes all or parts of Kankakee, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Essex, Hopkins Park, Peotone, Herscher and Braceville.
