Nashville, TN – A tragic accident on I-40 East claims a life early Monday morning.
An 81-year-old driver lost his life in a devastating single-vehicle crash that occurred today around 6:30 a.m. near McCrory Lane on I-40 East. According to Nashville police, the elderly driver was behind the wheel of a Mazda Miata when the vehicle unexpectedly veered into the center median, colliding with a digital message sign pole. Authorities confirmed the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have found no evidence of impairment and the cause of the crash is still under investigation. Efforts to notify the victim’s family are ongoing.
