Madison, WI – Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has issued an urgent advisory against all outdoor burning due to persistent dry and windy conditions throughout the state.

The advisory emphasizes the suspension of burn permits in DNR protection areas, highlighting the heightened risk of wildfires under the current weather circumstances. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and adhere to fire safety tips, including the proper operation of equipment that could spark a fire and the securement of trailer chains.

The DNR also reminds the public to report any fires immediately by calling 911 and to regularly check for updated fire danger reports. The full advisory and safety recommendations can be accessed on the Wisconsin DNR’s official website.
