Los Angeles, CA – In a dramatic early morning event in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, a landslide caused significant damage to three homes, including one under construction, without resulting in any injuries. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of a downed tree and electrical wires at 2:51 AM on Wednesday, on North Ventura Canyon Avenue.

Upon arrival, they discovered a hillside had collapsed toward the homes, prompting evacuations. The Department of Building and Safety assessed the damage, red-tagging at least one building for safety. The LAFD utilized drones equipped with cameras and infrared technology to further assess the situation at daybreak.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining an emergency plan for unexpected disasters, beyond the typical fire season or weather events.
