Lake County, IL – A domestic dispute in Antioch took a violent turn early Tuesday morning, resulting in a man being slashed across the face with an eight-inch knife blade.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call around 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday, regarding a domestic battery in progress at a residence in the 21200 block of Route 173, unincorporated Antioch. Information relayed to the deputies indicated that a knife was being used in the assault, enabling a swift and effective de-escalation upon their arrival.
The victim, a 45-year-old male residing at the address, suffered severe facial injuries after an argument escalated, leading to Aaron Locklear, 54, also living at the same location, allegedly assaulting him with a knife. Locklear was subsequently arrested and faced minor treatment for a cut on his finger before being taken back into custody.
Locklear is now facing charges including Aggravated Domestic Battery (Class 2 Felony), Aggravated Battery Causing Bodily Harm (Class 3 Felony), and Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon (Class 3 Felony), as authorized by the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office. The investigation suggests alcohol played a role in the incident. Locklear awaits his first court appearance, and it’s essential to note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
