42 COVID-19 cases at long-care facilities in Iroquois County

A second Iroquois County nursing home is reporting cases of COVID-19 today.

Prairieview Lutheran Homes becomes the second of two Iroquois County nursing home is now reporting cases of COVID-19 in addition to Ascension Presence Merkle Knipprath. Prairieview reports two cases of COVID-19.

Merkel Knipprath reports an additional 7 cases this week, making 40 total cases of COVID-19 as of Sunday.  That nursing home has since reported three deaths at the facility.  

There are now 10 long-care facilities within the Kankakee-Iroquois County region reporting outbreaks of COVID-19 at their facilities. This includes Aperion Care Bradley, Bickford Senior Center center in Bourbonnais, the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs Prince Home, Manteno Veterans’ Home, Presence of Our Lady of Victory, Riverside Miller Rehabilitation Center, Riverside Senior Life Bourbonnais, and the Shapiro Developmental Center.

There are now 274 cases stretched across 10 facilities in the Kankakee Iroquois County region at long-care facilities.
