Bickford Bourbonnais COVID-19 count triples in 48 hours, Aperion Care now reporting

UPDATE 1 PM: An alleged error in reporting numbers by IDPH has been issued by Bickford of Bourbonnais.

Illinois Department of Public Health officials are now reporting eight cases of COVID-19 at Bickford of Bourbonnais.

On Friday, the nursing home sent out a press release promoting transparency at the home.  The current case count on their website currently stands at two.  IDPH officials announced the updated numbers on their long-term care facility page Sunday night.

Over 20% of all residents at Bickford of Bourbonnais are now positive for COVID-19.  The facility is registered for 35 residents and accepts residents age 55 and up.

With the release of the Illinois Department of Public Health long-term care list over the weekend, it’s now being reported Aperion Care in Bradley currently holds 2 COVID-19 cases.

Aperion Care joins Bickford of Bourbonnais, Riverside Senior Life, Riverside Miller Center, and Shapiro Developmental Center in the growing list of care facilities connected to blooming case counts of COVID-19 in Kankakee County. 

A combined 102 residents the Kankakee County facilities are now COVID-19 positive as of Sunday night.
