Boys, 11 & 15, Found with Backpack of Guns, Ammo Near Illinois School

URBANA, IL – In a deeply alarming incident near Booker T. Washington Elementary School, an 11-year-old boy was detained with a backpack containing two stolen, fully-loaded Glock handguns, a magazine capable of holding 50 bullets, and 390 rounds of ammunition. 

The startling discovery occurred shortly after a shooting near the school on September 14th. According to Urbana Police reports, a 15-year-old male from Champaign, connected to the same incident, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The shooting involved multiple subjects with over ten rounds fired.

Authorities swiftly acted on the case, emphasizing the urgency and gravity of such young individuals possessing dangerous weapons. The community has been urged to assist the ongoing investigation and ensure the safety of its members.
