Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet Announces Home Delivered Meals Nutrition Services in Kankakee County

KANKAKEE – Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet is pleased to announce that effective October 1, 2021, the Agency will be the new provider of Home Delivered Meals Nutrition Services for Kankakee County. This program, funded by AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois, brings home delivered nutrition to eligible older adults throughout Kankakee County.   

Home Delivered Meals provide eligible adults with healthy meals up to five times per week. The program also includes regular phone calls for well-being checks and friendly conversation. All meals are approved by registered dieticians and provide one third of the daily nutrition needs for the average older adult. To qualify for the program individuals must be sixty or older, homebound, and otherwise unable to obtain or prepare a nutritious meal.
