According to Indiana State Police, it happened around 4 a.m. after a vehicle crash into the car head on at I-80/94 at the 3.8 mile-marker.  The crash involved a 2005 Chrysler van that reportedly struck the right barrier wall, crossed lanes, and hit the center median wall head-on.

Officers identified the driver as Larry Haynes Jr., who was seriously injured, and two juveniles were inside the vehicle, one of whom had life-threatening injuries. Neither child was properly restrained in the car.
