Illinois Man Arrested on Attempted Murder charge After Road Rage Shooting in Chicago

CHICAGO – Illinois State Police (ISP) have arrested Deante Velasquez, 32, of Chicago, following an alleged road rage shooting on Interstate 290. 

According to Illinois State Police Investigators. It happened July 8th just after 2 p.m. when a vehicle was struck by gunfire, shattering the windows. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. After an investigation, ISP located the suspect’s dark grey Nissan near Rockford. Velasquez was taken into custody during a traffic stop.

Velasquez now faces charges of Attempted Murder, Armed Habitual Criminal, and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.  He’s is currently held without bond.
