COVID-19: Kankakee leads zips in County with 10.4% positives as of Saturday

Residents in Kankakee may be stunned to learn the City leads in positive case results vs those who have been tested as of Saturday afternoon.

Earlier today, the Illinois Department of Public Health began releasing data on the total number of tests given per zip code.  With the data, we can learn 60901 leads the area overall positive numbers, with 164 of 1570, or 10.4% COVID-19 tests resulting in a positive results.

Other area zip codes currently populating on IDPH charts were also released. 

  1. 10.4% in Kankakee*
  2. 6.6% St. Anne
  3. 6.5% in Bourbonnais
  4. 6.0% in Momence
  5. 4.4% in Manteno
  6. 4.2% in Bradley

As of Saturday, 275 people in Kankakee County had tested positive for COVID-19. No change in recovery stats was announced today by the Kankakee County Health Department.
