AURORA, IL – Malfunctioning tornado sirens in Aurora on Saturday left residents on edge following a week of wicked weather.

The sirens added to the anxiety for residents following a week of destructive storm systems that swept through the region, including a reported tornado Friday night that tore through Wheaton, kicking up debris, and a Tornado near O’Hare Airport Wednesday that locked down the facility.

The malfunctioning sirens in Aurora, meant to alert residents of severe weather threats, further intensified concerns. The city is actively addressing the issue, while authorities emphasize that there was no immediate weather threat during the incidents. The Aurora Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is actively working to rectify the siren malfunction to prevent further false alarms.
