Kroger has announced they’ll be providing workers with a ‘hero bonus’ due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kroger Co announced the move on Tuesday, saying they’ll supply workers with a $2 premium bonus above standard base rate pay to hours beginning on March 29th through April 18th.

The store has hired more than 30,000 new workers in the last two weeks, including workers who had previously worked in harder hit sectors hit by COVID-19, including hotel workers and food service distributors.
