Iroquois County announces first death due to COVID-19, now 41 cases

The Iroquois County Health Department announced on Sunday the first COVID-19 related eath of an Iroquois County resident, a female in her 60s. 

The news comes following the worst week yet for Iroquois County, announcing 22 new COVID-19 cases last week.

The County also announced 3 new cases Sunday, bringing County totals to 41. No new recoveries were announced Sunday and remain at 15 to date.

The death announcement comes just 24 hours after IDPH officials announced the first nursing home in the County, Presence Merkle-Knipprath Countryside in Clifton, began reporting 2 cases of COVID-19 at that facility.

Ages 30-39 now lead all COVID-19 case counts reported in the County. A case by age group report can now be found below.
