A City of Joliet Officer has tested positive for COVID-19.

That information was sent out by Joliet officials this morning.  The Officer became symptomatic and was tested at the Wal-Mart Federal Joliet Testing Facility last week.   Following the test, the Officer self-quarantined pending results that later came back positive.

The Officer has not been at the Department or in contact with other members since undergoing the self-quarantine procedures following the initial testing process.  The Joliet Police Department reports the Officer is doing well and has not had any serious complications to date.  No other Officers of civilian personnel have tested positive at the facility, but the Department has assured they will release additional details if that changes.
