Kankakee County COVID-19 recoveries now at 40%

Kankakee County Health Department announced Thursday recoveries have grown to 437 in the County of a total 1,137 infected to date for COVID-19.  Recovery numbers are based off of 1,084 active cases and take away from the 53 who have passed away due to the pandemic.

Today was one of the lowest 24-hour single day case counts in May, with 13 new cases on Thursday.  Over half of those cases were under the age of 29 years old.

There are now 647 known cases active in the County, with ten hospitalized in Kankakee.

Cases increased Thursday via IDPH over the course of the past 24-hours increase in Manteno (+5), Bourbonnais (+5), Bradley (+1), Momence (+2), Pembroke (+1), St. Anne (+1), Herscher (+6), and Kankakee (+21).  Here’s how cases break down across Kankakee County via confirmed Zip Codes Tuesday evening:

  • 70 Cases (Manteno)
  • 136 Cases (Bourbonnais)

  • 471 Cases (Kankakee)
  • 29 Cases (St. Anne)
