KANKAKEE COUNTY, IL – Two Kankakee County Sheriff’s deputies are recovering after their squad cars collided while responding to a burglary in progress Monday morning.

The crash occurred on Route 114 when the deputies passed a tanker truck and collided head-on with a pickup truck hauling heavy equipment. One squad car tried to avoid the crash by going through the ditch, but the pickup swerved in the same direction, causing a collision.
