Kankakee Valley Theatre Association announced cancelations on Friday of both upcoming productions of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins JR. and Meredith Willson’s The Music Man.

“We have made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel both of the aforementioned productions. Many tears have been shed, and we know this is incredibly disappointing for everyone involved,” said KVTA in a statement last night.

The announcement was made by the Board of Directors following Governor Pritzker’s decision to extend the Stay-at-Home order through May 30th.

Advanced purchases for shows will be refunded or donated depending on your choice to help offset the costs already incurred for the productions.  Donations are tax-deductible.

No action is needed if donations are chosen from those who have purchased advanced tickets.
