Illinois Woman Arrested After Leaving ID at Crime Scene

KANKAKEE, IL – Police swiftly responded to car break-ins near South Third and West Clinton Wednesday afternoon after a resident stumbled across a pair of intruders in her vehicle.

According to reports, the resident discovered two intruders inside her vehicle and called the police just before 11:30 a.m. The suspects allegedly kicked and dented the door of the car before fleeing. One suspect, 19-year-old Kayla Lafine, allegedly left behind a bag with her identification, aiding the police in locating her and 41-year-old Gerald Curtis of Chicago. 

Both were arrested and face charges for burglary to a motor vehicle.
