LAKE COUNTY, Indiana – A hit-and-run incident on I-80/94 has shaken the community, with an all black-clad pedestrian falling victim to a rogue driver.
According to Indiana State Police, it happened Tuesday night when a black female, dressed entirely in black, was fatally struck by a vehicle just east of Broadway. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m., prompting multiple 911 calls to dispatch. Shockingly, the driver responsible for the collision fled the scene, leaving the pedestrian to meet a tragic fate.
The identity of the deceased remains unconfirmed, pending an examination by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or possesses any information about the vehicle involved to step forward and aid in the investigation.
