Thursday afternoon, Olivet Nazarene University announced it will welcome it’s students back from across the United States as they return from Spring Break.

On Wednesday, Wheaton College, a Christian liberal arts school in Wheaton, IL, announced it would be suspending face-to-face classes for the remainder of the year.

Olivet said in a letter to students obtained by Country Herald, it would move classes containing more than 60 people to an online or format split into smaller classes but will welcome students back from Spring Break this Monday.

The University announced large group gatherings, including Chapel, have been canceled until further notice.

“We continue to follow guidelines of the CDC and local health department. Currently, all other classes for ONU residential students (Bourbonnais campus) are scheduled to resume on March 16, as previously announced. School of Graduate and Continuing Studies students enrolled at the Oakbrook location will continue to have labs and exams at Oakbrook. Further info will be provided as necessary.” – David Pickering, Executive Vice President & CFO at Olivet

So far, Kankakee County has no cases of Coronavirus. Students, however, come to Olivet from across the globe.

Indiana University, Northwestern, DePaul, Eastern Illinois, North Park University, and others across the state have opted not to hold classes at this time, per CDC recommendations.
