Multiple groups of protesters are moving across Kankakee this afternoon.

A group of protesters have blocked off portions of Kennedy Drive this afternoon in Kankakee. Another group worked on Route 50 this afternoon.

The protesters have remained peaceful, at points kneeling in the street and laying down in the street.

At one point, all five lanes of traffic on Kennedy had been blocked off by protesters, including entire intersections. The Village of Bradley requested northbound lanes entering Bradley to be blocked.

Police are working with the group blocking off traffic at this time. Traveling northbound on Kennedy is not accessible due to the protest at this time.

There have been 911 calls made to KANCOM this afternoon in response to some chants of protesters throughout Kankakee County.
