Riverside Hospital CEO, family injured in Bourbonnais crash Tuesday

BOURBONNAIS – A crash Tuesday night on Route 45/52 injured five area residents, including the President and CEO of Riverside Hospital, Phil Kambic, and two members of his family.

According to Illinois State Police, the crash occurred after a pickup truck driven by 42-year-old Adam S. DeYoung of St. Anne crossed the center line near 1100 N. Road on Route 45/52 and hit a Jeep driven by a 30-year-old Jessica N. Vaughn of Bourbonnais. Kambic, his wife Lynda, and son Jacob Kambic, all from Bourbonnais, were in a third vehicle that was following the car driven by Vaughn at the time when they became involved in the crash.

DeYoung was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Vaughn and the Kambics were taken to the hospital with injuries thought to be non-life-threatening.

DeYoung has been charged by Illinois State Police for driving influence of drugs and traffic violations.
