Clifton Man Fatally Shot at House Party in Unincorporated Bourbonnais

BOURBONNAIS, IL – Tragedy struck early Saturday morning when a 23-year-old Clifton man lost his life in a shooting incident that unfolded during a house party in unincorporated Bourbonnais. 

According to Kankakee County Sheriff’s Deputies, Michael O. Godinez was found unresponsive, suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest area when law enforcement officials arrived at the scene on 1100 block of  Coyote Run at approximately 4:30 am.

Sheriff’s Deputies swiftly responded to the incident after receiving reports of a fight escalating into gunfire. Despite immediate medical attention, Godinez was unresponsive after suffering gunshot wounds in his chest and was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.

Investigators are actively conducting interviews with partygoers and witnesses in an effort to piece together the events leading up to the shooting. They urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact the sheriff’s detectives.

An investigation into the case is ongoing at this time.  No charges have been made in connection with Godinez’s death.
