Six cases of COVID-19 reported among staff at Will County Sheriff’s Department

The Will County Sheriff’s Department reports six deputies are now infected with COVID-19.

According to the news release from Will County Sheriff Mike Kelley, the number includes two deputies from a gang suppression unit, one assigned to the Will County Courthouse, one court holding area deputy, one deputy assigned of the Will County Jail, and one court security officer.

Before returning to work each deputy must complete two negative COVID-19 tests before being allowed to return. Two of the six deputies are expected to return to work as early as next week, pending test results.
