Two Wal-Mart employees have died from COVID-19.

Wal-Mart released that in a statement earlier this evening.  The two employees were based at the Evergreen Park Wal-Mart location.

“Neither associate had been at the store for at least the last week and since that time, we’ve reinforced our cleaning and sanitizing measures which include a thorough deep-cleaning of key areas of the store and installed signage and floor decales to encourage social distancing.” Wal-Mart said in a statement tonight.

As of March 31st, the store passed an inspection by the Health Department and no issues were reported.

“This is devastating news.  There are no words to express the loss of two associates at our Evergreen Park store and we are mourning alongside their families.” The company said in a statement.

Both employees were men, ages 48 and 51.
