Chicago has entered warning territory for COVID-19 risk metrics this week. New data was released by the Illinois Department of Public Health early Saturday morning.

A warning is issued for territory when an area climbs above the recommended 50 per 100,000 residents. Chicago reported 52 per 100,000 residents during the period running June 21st to June 27th. The City remained in positive territory for ICU beds, percent of all positive tests during a week, and deaths reported.

Over 41,000 residents were tested during the period.

Other Counties entering the Warning Territory for the first time this week included Iroquois and Grundy County. Iroquois hit the warning 50 residents testing positive in a week per 100,000 residents while Grundy entered on account of deaths in a week, with one.

Kankakee County remained in warning territory, adding to its totals from the previous week with 112 per 100,000 residents. The county reported four deaths during the week and tested just fewer than 2,000 residents.
