Kankakee — As of Friday, the Kankakee County Health Department (KCHD) reports 1,235 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 61 deaths.
The Statewide recovery rate has climbed in Illinois to 94%, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. Recoveries in Kankakee have climbed to 75% with 929 recoveries overall reported by KCHD.
Since Sunday, there have been 11 new cases in Kankakee County. No new deaths have been reported this week. Among new cases reported this week, five are in their 20s, two in their 30s, three in their 40s and one in their 90s.
