UPDATE 11:09: The Iroquois County Public Health Department is open to the public by appointment only at this time.

They’ve been open all along, but now you can actually go in and do your business in person with another real person at the Iroquois County Administrative Center.  Bright and early Thursday morning, the Iroquois County’s Clerk, Treasurer, Assessor, Zoning, and Finance offices will re-open to citizens who want to do their county business face-to-face, or at least mask-to-mask.

The County Highway Department offices will stay closed a bit longer, but you can still work with them by appointment.  The Iroquois County Public Health Department is still closed due to illness, but an agent is answering most phone calls.

Iroquois County Board Chairman John Shure recommends that “All visitors take appropriate precautions, including wearing protective masks and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet minimum.”

Chairman Shure also suggests anyone who wants to transact county business without facemask-to-facemask risks try first to get it done with email, snail mail, cell phone, landline, or any other method preferred by the voter; then come on in, the doors are unlocked again.
