RECORD HIGH: 3,137 new single day COVID-19 count Friday in Illinois

Illinois Department of Public Health announced Friday afternoon 3,137 new COVID-19 cases had been discovered in the past 24 hours, with 105 additional deaths announced.  The cases set a new single day record high in Illinois.

Deaths today included a male teenager in Will County.

IDPH now reports 56,055 cases of COVID-19 with 2,457 deaths across 97 counties.  Local labs processed over 14,000 COVID-19 with 21% resulting in positive results today.  There have now been 284,688 tests conducted in Illinois to date since the pandemic began.
