Bloomington Man Arrested in Hit-and-Run, Victim in Critical Condition: Police Seek Witnesses

Bloomington, IL – A hit-and-run incident in Bloomington, Illinois, led to a critical injury and the subsequent arrest of a 28-year-old man.

On November 30, 2023, around 2:00 p.m., a 48-year-old male was struck by a vehicle on East Locust Street. Bloomington police and paramedics responded promptly, transporting the victim to the hospital in critical condition. The suspect, Deonte M. Andrews from Normal, IL, was later apprehended and faces multiple charges, including aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.

The Bloomington Police Department urges anyone with further information to contact Detective Pedro Diaz. Meanwhile, anonymous tips can be submitted to the Crime & Intelligence Analysis Unit. The investigation is ongoing.
