Naperville, IL – Police Investigating Non-Fatal Targeted Shooting

Naperville, IL – In a disturbing midday incident, the Naperville Police Department reported a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. The event took place around 1:30 p.m. at a residence located at 2500 block of Leach Drive, where a victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Responding quickly, police and fire personnel provided immediate assistance, ensuring the victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.

According to preliminary findings, the shooting was not random, indicating a targeted attack. Following the incident, nearby schools were swiftly placed on lockdown, and residents received a shelter-in-place alert through Naper Notify, emphasizing community safety amid the ongoing investigation. 

The suspects, described as fleeing on foot, remain at large. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Naperville Police Department’s Investigations Division at 630-420-6665.
